This multi-layered, multi fingered delrin* panel design, has cuts and feathering in the top area along the spinal processes of the withers –allowing for a softer fit. The front of the panels are rounded and feathered, designed for a scapula overlap of up to 3 inches- if needed for short backed horses, making it comfortable for all different types of back shapes. Whether your horse is wide, narrow or "A" framed, high or mutton withers, short-long-sway-roach or mule back in shapes and top-lines, round or slab sided, all of which can be fitted with these incredible panels. Each of the 3 layers of delrin is smaller than the previous and stacked in progression called, progressive loading which allows for complete and dynamic rider weight distribution over the entire surface area of the panel while the horse is in motion. The rear of the panel will also have an additional layer of stainless steel for the washer mount to slide upon. The thickness of the panel layers has also been addressed. Depending upon size of the saddle 16, 17 or 18 inch seat, the center layer of the panel is constructed in a way that it will support the heavy rider and not bottom out and sore your horse. Or in the case of the lightweight rider will not act like a springboard if the panels are too stiff. (System Description)
*The Delrin ® -from DuPont, panels are manufactured and assembled in the United States and naturally the Original Peruvian Saddles are made in Peru then imported by Rain Tree Tack for complete assembly here in the USA! Only Cheryl could of gotten this done - being a rider and a Peruvian Judge she knows what does and does not work. I'm so proud to openly endorse this new saddle from Cheryl.

Subject: Peruvian saddle
Hello Cathy - I saw your ad on the website for Peruvian saddles with a flex tree (flexible panel) and just bought one. Love it. I'm using a Skito pad with it which is working out but I was interested in the booties or socks. Do you sell socks that would fit a Peruvian Performance saddle? I've enclosed a pic. Thanks. Tara Dorn

The photos below are that of this
amazing panel in action shown on my dinning room table, (and remember that
this saddle was NOT designed to fit a dinning room table). But, I just had
to show you how the panels can mash flat for a flat back or mutton-withered
horse and then curve up to fit a real 'A' frame horse. Now THAT is a
saddle that can really fit a wide variety of back shapes with no additional
adjusting by you, the customer. Now you know why we LOVE our saddles and so
do our horses!

Mutton withers? A frame withers? A flat rear back or an angled rear back? A soft shoulder? A deformed shoulder? Or how about a knobby one? A sway back? A flat top line? How about an angled shoulder with a flat rear back - the twist? System X fits them all.
How about that tree?
Narrow thin, strong bars with faired
ends allow free movement of the System X panels that give the rider close
contact.
Just 1.25 inches from the back of the horse to the bar
of the saddle. Add a pad that is 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick and then
compare that to ANY other saddle.
YES... This is a system that can fit a wide variety of back shapes and allow you to go freely from horse to horse with no additional adjusting by you, the customer.
One Saddle for ALL these different horses
(All you have to do is pick the
right size girth)
The System X is designed to fit multiple shaped horses!
How
can anyone say that because you purchase a specific saddle for a
particular breed, such as an Arabian, Quarter, Gaited, Paso or Mule saddle that
it will fit that breed or better yet FULL SISTERS within the same breed? The
answer is: THEY CAN'T and anyone who says
that
is, point blank, full of
S***!
I get so upset at people saying this crap just to sell a saddle that it makes me fuming MAD.
So then, for all those who say this, show them the photo's below of my two mares, who just happen to be FULL sisters with the ONLY similarity between is their color.
Look for yourself and see how two mares
of the SAME BREED, with SAME parents can produce two completely
different body shapes.
(Even their way of going, as with their
personalities are just as different.)

Solana and Colina (Peruvian Paso's) FULL SISTERS - Different body shapes |

Top Line - Solana in the front has a dip and more predominate withers with a rise to the lions where as Colina in the back is more flat. |
Back View - Notice the point of hip. |

TWO completely different shapes
between SISTERS!!!! Just open your eyes and look around you! You will be surprised to
find that 10% of all horses are asymmetrical. Yep. They are
crooked, with one side, hip or shoulder larger than the other. Do this for the sake of your horse! |

More horses
High withers (or thoroughbred type-razor withers) a narrow back,
slap-sided, prominent backbone and narrow shoulders.

Breed: Quarter Horse (one of our horses) |
High narrow withers, with narrow asymmetrical shoulders and back and with
even hips.

Sway backed, croup high - short back, pot bellied and slightly rump high.

Wide withers and wide tubular back
Breed: Peruvian (one of our horses) |
Below is Colina
age 3 at the start of the riding season.
* Young horses will continue to change and grow until the age of approximately 5 years, after that they will change but more slowly as they mature and age, gaining and loosing weight. You must - as a responsible horse owner make sure your saddle fits your horse as he changes throughout the year and through the years of his life. Breed: Peruvian (one of our horses) |
|
Wide with broad shoulders, tubular in shape, well sprung in the rib cage
and has a straight top line or what is called a mule back and mutton withers
(no withers to speak of).
Breed: Peruvian (one of our horses) |
Balanced narrow shoulders, very short back, slightly rump high and
roached backed. One hip lower than the other. (We simulated this by
having horse stand with hind leg cocked - this is what you would see if you
had a horse standing square in the rear - that had one hip lower than the
other).
Breed: Peruvian (one of our horses) |
|
Wide broad shoulders and well sprung (rib cage).
Breed: Peruvian (one of our horses) |
Well balanced, with adequate withers in both width and height. body
somewhat narrow.
Breed: Peruvian (one of our horses) |
|
Rump low.
Breed: Apendex-warmblood -Thoroughbred/Trekainer Cross Flat backed / "Mule backed" - (Donkey actually). Narrow.
Breed: Donkey - some of my customers ride their Donkeys and LOVE them. This is Annabelle. |
Horse is standing crooked. Make sure horse stands square. A
well-balanced horse.
Breed: Fox trotter (one of our horses) |
|
With horses that have an Asymmetrical shape such as, (one
rear hip higher than the other, one shoulder larger than the other one side
of the back lower than the other,) or those that have a severe sway back,
extreme rise to the croup, low in the rear or hollows behind the shoulder, shims maybe or will be needed to achieve a proper fit and or to balance the saddle for the rider. Remember when using shims: Always shim AWAY from pressure and check fit monthly. If not properly done shims WILL cause more harm than good - showing up as dry spots, roaning hair, heat damage (that causes the skin to fall off). You can determine if shims have caused this by palpating the muscles - if the muscles are not sore then your damage most likely is from improper shimming. |
