The ingenious system forces raw water through the filter as the bottle is pressed at a rate calculated to remove the greatest volume of pollutants. If the water source might contain extreme levels of bacteriological or viral contamination, Berkey recommends adding two drops of bleach or iodine to each refill before filtering. The new four-ply Techni-Ice vastly improves on traditional gel and ice packs, providing long-lasting waterless ice. Techni-Ice can be used hot, cold, or frozen. It can keep your food and drinks icy cold for days in a cooler or take the place of a heating pad. It can be frozen down to -190 °C-more than twice as cold as dry ice!
